We wanted to get out of Portsmouth but still have a lunch with a view and settled on BG’s and boy, were we glad we came here. Beautiful setting, friendly folks with a helpful server and terrific food and drink. Lobster roll, clam chowder, fish sandwich and even an extra corn on the cob were all perfect. And a Del’s shandy to wash it down made it all the better. Great place. Maybe come back one year to enjoy it again during leaf season.
I went here on a Saturday and had a great time. We sat outside since the weather was really nice. The view is part of the reason why we came here. I had the fried clams and my spouse had the fried haddock. So delicious! It tasted like their oil is changed regularly. The waitress we had was also very attentive and I never went longer than a couple minutes with an empty beverage. The pricing here is typical for the fare/location. 10/10
We stopped here on our way to Maine from Boston Logan. What a great spot! They were very accommodating of us after we had been traveling all day. The food was great and the service was awesome! Go check it out!
I haven’t been here since I was a kid but it’s still just as great. The bartender was friendly, efficient and just overall an excellent bartender. I went on Thursday night...it was hot and busy but she always smiled at her customers. I’m going to be back and I’ll be sure to tell all my friends what an awesome experience I had!
A true New England hidden gem! Super friendly staff, great fresh seafood, and a well rounded drink list with plenty of options! Got a large spread to try a little bit of everything and it was all delicious. The seafood was fresh, lightly battered and perfectly golden. Nothing was greasy and the portion sizes are fairly priced and perfect. Alot of classic options all done to perfection. There is indoor seating, outdoor deck seating and a covered deck. We sat in the covered deck and it was very comfortable. Everything was clean and there is plenty of parking. Whether you are in the area or looking for a real seafood restaurant by the water, this is a must try! We will be going back very soon!
2023-Back again and still a fantastic option. The onion rings are really good and they can cook a burger to order! Staff is great, prices are fair! Fantastic setting, great seafood options and the land lovers also have great options. Impressive beer selections and super friendly staff. Came back for our 2nd visit, still great. Had the steak tips this time and both the red & white sangria! Staff friendly as ever, location is still epic! I highly recommend!
Ate on deck; a beautiful day. Good food at reasonable prices for a tourist destination, which many locals also frequent. Noise on deck is not a concern; I can’t comment on indoor dining as we have not eaten inside in years.
This is an amazing spot to get food! My boyfriend and I got the steamers (A), spicy crab chowder (Not spicy at all just flavored and yummmyyyy), clam chowder which was amazing he said it was either his first or second slot and the stuffed haddock which as a non cooked fish eater had me wanting more. Also coleslaw was good and the onion rings had that perfect ratio of onions to batter for all those onion lovers out there. Would highly recommend also the boathouse punch was strong so if you like a strong drink definitely get that and the key lime oh my lord is yummy and coming from a person who lived in south Florida for seven years.
